Letense Gebru , 41

Letense Gebru (aged 41) is a widowed former child wife from May Keyan, Tigray.  I was married when I was 10 years old.  My husband was conscripted into Mengistu Haile Mariam’s army.  He was sent to the frontline with little military training.  He was killed within a few days in 1989.  I moved to Mekale after the end of the war.  Life was extremely difficult because I had no means of supporting myself and my two children.  No one was prepared to marry a former child wife with children. I walked from Mekele to Addis Ababa on foot for three months. I was looking for a better life, but things are worse in the city than they were in Mekele. I want some advice and support on how to become a market trader selling food stuff.
